We just recently wrapped up a *brand project for a company called Marination and it is with great pride and a hungry stomach that we watch as they hit the streets tomorrow for their official launch. I’ll let them describe what it is they do and why you NEED to hit them up:

Marination specializes in Hawaiian and Korean curb cuisine that is always fast, usually marinated in a signature sauce, frequently served in a tortilla, and mostly healthy. Our rolling street kitchen is a righteous destination for carnivores and vegetarians alike.

Check them out at marinationmobile.com, follow them on Twitter, read their blog, eat their food. It’s only a matter of time before they blow up so get in on the ground floor and get in the know. Tell your friends…they will thank you.

My bum is on the logo…

We always stress the importance of consistency when it comes to the application of brand visuals. Staying true to your roots and your brand are crucial in the development of a strong visual story for any company.

Seattle Show 2009

The 11th Annual Seattle Show turned out to be quite the event. This small, design awards show was first organized in 1997 with the mission to highlight a lot of local talent and client work towards national recognition. Every year, more than 750 entries are judged and given awards based on design medium, individual skills, community involvement and the infamous ‘best of show’. While we at LeftRight can’t say we’ve received any of these awards (busy, busy), we are proud to say we’re part of a talented pool of designers, agencies and students all crossing paths in a collaborative manner to help combat the perils of ugliness.

Our friends at Creature have created ‘Reverse Memorials’ celebrating local youths’ achievement for local non-profit, The Service Board (sound familiar?). Instead of these memorials mourning a death, these reverse memorials celebrated the new and better lives these kids now have. Great job on getting a Gold, Creature.

University of Washington senior Francis Luu was tasked to rebrand the Port of Seattle, and was given a silver award for student work. A long time friend and colleague of LeftRight, we want to say we’re proud of you, Franko. You’ll always have a spot waiting for you at LR.

New Pepsi Design and rebranding

America’s favorite “other cola” recently received a redesign, which has been getting some mixed reviews from the general public and more particularly, the design community. With the redesign comes a new logo, packaging and PR strategies. For what it’s worth, we at LeftRight think the $1million Pepsi design team did a good job in keeping up with last year’s award winning Coca-Cola redesign.

The first one looks like it was designed by Tim Burton

Good example of modern minimalism… but we still like our Crown with Coke.
